Frequently asked questions
- What is a Wine Match score?
- It is an estimate of how likely you are to enjoy a specific wine, computed from your Taste DNA — the taste profile built from your own ratings. It is not a quality score and it is not an average of other people's opinions.
- Why is my score different from the community rating?
- Because it is supposed to be. A wine that a crowd loves can be badly matched to your palate, and a modest bottle can suit you perfectly. WineDNA answers "will I like this?", not "is this famous?".
- How do I make my predictions more accurate?
- Rate what you drink, including the wines you did not enjoy. Negative ratings are as informative as positive ones. Guided rating asks a few structured questions that carry much more signal than a star count alone.
- Is my data used to train AI models?
- No. Conversations with the AI sommelier are processed by Anthropic on our behalf and are contractually excluded from model training. You can switch conversation history off, and you can delete AI data without deleting your account.
- Do I have to share my Taste DNA with the AI?
- No. The "use my data" toggle in the assistant controls it. With it off, you still get answers about the wine — they are just not personalised.
- Does WineDNA sell wine?
- No. We do not sell, ship or deliver alcohol, and the app contains no links to any shop. Prices are shown as an indicative band so you know roughly what a bottle costs — information, not an offer.
- How do I sign in?
- A one-time code sent to your email address: six digits, valid for ten minutes, from an icoffio.com address. The code is delivered by Resend. You can also browse as a guest, which needs no account at all — nothing is written to your phone and you can sign in later if you want the part that is about you.
- Can I use the same account on my iPhone and on the web?
- Yes. It is one account and one database: your Taste DNA, ratings and cellar are the same wherever you sign in. The full web experience is still being built — right now the site covers information, legal pages, support and account deletion, and there is no sign-in on it.
- How do I delete my account?
- From inside the app: Profile, Account, Delete account. It closes the moment you confirm, with no confirmation email and no way back. The account deletion page on this site walks through both routes and says exactly what a deletion covers.
- Which languages and countries do you support?
- English and Polish at launch, with Poland as the first market. Some commercial features may be limited in countries whose law restricts alcohol advertising.
- How do I report or block someone?
- There are no reviews or public posts in WineDNA, so there is very little to report — the only place another member appears is Taste Neighbours, as an anonymised pseudonym with a taste-overlap percentage. Every neighbour entry has Report and Block on its menu, and Profile then Report abuse reaches the same route. You can also email support@icoffio.com. We aim to act within 24 hours, and repeat offenders lose their accounts.
Anything else
If none of the above fits, write to support@icoffio.com and we will route it. WineDNA is run by one person in Poland, so the message goes straight to the person who can act on it.
